This apartment is a duplex with 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in a traditional NYC walk-up building. The apartment is located on the ground floor and also has a basement. Three rooms share the bathroom on the lower floor, and two rooms share the bathroom upstairs. It is fully furnished, including a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area. It features gorgeous exposed brick walls and high ceilings. High-speed wifi is included. The apartment is equipped with a video intercom system.
All our apartments have an in-house representative who helps us ensure the apartment is well-maintained and that all roommates thrive. We have general house rules everyone must follow and a weekly cleaning schedule everyone must participate in. In order to set you up for success, we provide all basic cleaning supplies!
Here you will get the real New York City experience as this is a traditional NYC walk-up building. The building is well-kept, and we offer onsite maintenance support. The building has a central heating system.
Full disclosure: Issues related to the central heating system
When the buildings central heating system is active (normally from October to May), the pipes throughout the apartment will make some noise, and the radiators in Rooms 901 and 905 may shake and leak water.
When the heating system is in order, it makes minimal noise, but that requires everyone in the building not to turn their radiator knobs off to avoid water getting trapped. So, instead of turning the radiator knob off in Rooms 901 and 905, you will need to use the provided ACs to cool the rooms down when needed.
Tenants have complained about being woken up at night by the noise, which you must be prepared for. We continuously notify the Superintendent and he works on repairing the issues as quickly as possible. However, we have found that the amount of noise is unpredictable, and the time it takes to make the necessary repairs is also out of our control.
The price of this room is set with this issue in mind. If you choose to rent a room in the apartment, you will need to accept any issues that may arise from the buildings central heating system. We will, of course, continuously work on limiting the issue, as we want your stay with us to be as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.
